MONTREAL – Montreal police are investigating after a body part was found along the shore of a river in the city’s north end.
Police say they were called to an intersection on Sunday afternoon near the Rivière des Prairies, where the remains were found.
Multiple reports said the body part was a head, but Const. Véronique Dubuc would not confirm that information.
Dubuc says the remains belonged to a man and investigators are trying to identify him.
Police set up a perimeter around the area in Montréal-Nord.
Dubuc says investigators are trying to determine the cause of death.
This report by The Canadian Press was first published Sept. 8, 2025.
