Drugs seized, plane passenger charged in Bunibonibee Cree Nation

A woman has been charged after she allegedly tried to smuggle $140,000 worth of drugs into Bunibonibee Cree Nation by plane.
A First Nation safety officer contacted RCMP at 8 p.m. Sunday to say a passenger who arrived from Winnipeg was detained at the airport. The community member was taken to the Oxford House RCMP detachment and turned over to police.
Police seized 251 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 24 grams of cocaine and 200 illicit pills believed to be oxycodone.
A 37-year-old woman is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance.
