Police have arrested a man accused of stealing a vehicle from two fishermen while armed with a hatchet, Manitoba RCMP announced Friday.
Jorden Walker, 34, was taken into custody without incident on Thursday — 10 days after the alleged armed robbery occurred on a riverbank of the Red River in East Selkirk.
Manitoba’s integrated violent offender apprehension unit, a specialized team of police officers jointly staffed by RCMP and Winnipeg Police Service members, located Walker at a home on Selkirk Avenue in Selkirk.
RCMP issued a news release last week, asking for the public’s help in locating the accused.
He is charged with armed robbery, uttering death threats and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
