Winter weather brings down power lines, crews restoring outages

Thousands of Manitobans are temporarily without electricity after severe weather in northern, eastern and western Manitoba.
High winds, rain and heavy wet snow caused damage and brought trees down on overhead power lines in many areas, leading to widespread power outages. More than 12,000 customers were affected, Manitoba Hydro stated in a news release.
About 4,500 customers remain without power on Monday night. Manitoba Hydro stated they will update restoration times as crews assess damage and begin repairs on Tuesday.
