Body found after Berens River house burns

A person’s remains were found in the ashes of a house fire in Berens River early Saturday morning.
Just before 2 a.m. RCMP received a report of a fire at a home on Main Street North in Berens River First Nation.
After fire crews brought the blaze under control, Mounties examined the burned structure and found the remains of an individual, RCMP said in a news release. No details on the victim were released.
The cause of the fire does not appear to be criminal in nature. The investigation is ongoing.
