Valour FC is folding.
Winnipeg’s professional soccer club made the announcement Friday afternoon.
The Canadian Premier League has been covering operating costs for the past two seasons, but recently informed the Winnipeg Football Club it will no longer do so. Before that financial support, the WFC was losing around a million dollars per year to keep the team running.
Valour averaged 3,213 fans this season and never qualified for the playoffs in the franchise’s history.
