VICTORIA – Police in Victoria are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision left a skateboarder with critical injuries.

A statement says officers received a call just after 8 p.m. on Sunday about a crash between a vehicle and a skateboarder at Bay Street and Tyee Road.

The skateboarder was taken to hospital with what police say were critical injuries.

The area was shut down for several hours as investigators examined the scene, including with a crash reconstruction team. 

Roads re-opened on Monday at approximately 3 a.m.

Police say they are seeking witnesses and dash camera footage to help them with the investigation.
