Police say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Value Lodge posted a statement on its website, saying the motel will be closed indefinitely.

The motel says the closure allows it to assess the damage and begin the long process of recovery.

The motel says it’s devastated that many guests have been displaced and its team has been working with local authorities and relief organizations to ensure everyone’s safety.
