FREDERICTON – Police in Fredericton are asking the public for help investigating the theft of a large church bell.
Police say the brass bell was stolen from St. Peter’s Anglican Church on Dec. 29.
On Friday afternoon, police say they discovered a damaged portion of the bell in a ditch, thanks to a tip from a member of the public.
They are still searching for the remainder of the bell.
Police say there was a black four-door Ford F-150 truck involved in the original theft.
They are asking for anyone with information to contact them.
