CHICAGO (AP) — Javon Bennett led Dayton with 24 points, including the game-winning layup with two seconds left, and the Flyers beat Loyola Chicago 70-68 on Saturday.
Bennett shot 7 of 18 from the field, including 3 for 9 from 3-point range, and went 7 for 8 from the line for the Flyers (11-4, 2-0 Atlantic 10 Conference). Deshayne Montgomery scored 20 points and added seven steals.
Justin Moore led the Ramblers (5-10, 1-1) in scoring, finishing with 19 points and five assists. Kayde Dotson added 16 points for Loyola Chicago. Miles Rubin finished with 10 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.
Bennett scored 10 points in the first half, and Dayton went into halftime trailing 39-31. Montgomery led Dayton with 17 points in the second half, and they outscored Loyola Chicago by 10 points over the final half.
