WASAGA BEACH, ONT. – Provincial police are renewing their appeal for information in the case of Elnaz Hajtamiri, four years after the Ontario woman was abducted and never heard from again.
Hajtamiri was 37 years old when she was abducted by three suspects from a home on Trailwood Place in Wasaga Beach on Jan. 12, 2022.
Despite several arrests in that case and a previous attack on Hajtamiri, the woman has never been found and she is presumed dead.
Her former boyfriend is expected to go on trial for first-degree murder later this year.
Ontario Provincial Police say their ongoing investigation of Hajtamiri’s abduction has identified “potential ties” to Timmins, the Greater Toronto Area, Quebec and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Although investigators are not sharing any further details about that, they are appealing to anyone with information in these regions to contact them.
A $100,000 reward for information on Hajtamiri’s whereabouts is still on the table.
OPP Det. Insp. Steven Martell said police know that someone out there can help the investigation.
“Elnaz’s family and friends have endured years of missed memories, celebrations and holidays without her and we remain committed to finding the answers they deserve,” Martell said in a news release.
