Police say three people have been charged with second-degree murder after a fatal shooting inside a home in Chilliwack, B.C., last weekend.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says in a news release that Chilliwack RCMP responded to a report of a shooting at the home on Mellard Avenue at around 8:40 a.m. on Sunday, where they found two men with gunshot wounds.
The release says 48-year-old Kristopher Benson of Chilliwack died at the scene and the other man went to hospital, where he remains with life-threatening injuries.
The BC Prosecution Service has approved one count each of second-degree murder against 50-year-old Jason Himpfen, 34-year-old Zoltan Losier and 40-year-old Christopher Meischl in relation to Benson’s death.
The release says the three men each face one count of attempted murder related to the second victim.
IHIT investigators arrested one of the men in Chilliwack and another at a residence in Abbotsford on Wednesday, while the third was arrested at a home in Chilliwack on Thursday.
