NAPANEE – Provincial police in Ontario say a bus went off Highway 401 on Sunday evening, ending up on its side in the ditch.

OPP Sgt. Erin Cranton says police were alerted about the crash, which happened east of Napanee, Ont., at around 7:15 p.m.

Cranton says approximately 50 people were on board the coach and while injuries were still being assessed a few hours afterward, she says there were no fatalities.

An eastbound section of Highway 401 between County Road 4 and County Road 6 remained closed after the crash.

Cranton says there were reports of icy conditions in the area at the time.
