Man accused in sexual assault of teen

A 24-year-old man faces sexual assault charges after police say he was caught with a teen he met online.

The man contacted the teen late last month through social media and they later met up several times, a Wednesday police news release stated.

On Friday, Winnipeg Police Service officers were sent to a residence on the 300 block of Oakview Avenue where the pair were discovered together.

The sexual assaults were then revealed, police said.

With the investigation turned over to the counter exploitation unit, Sterling Bergmann Camara was arrested Monday.

He is charged with luring a person under 16 by means of telecommunication, two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual interference.

He remains in custody.
