Ville Heinola and Isaak Phillips, who was summoned from the Manitoba Moose, took their place in the lineup.
More housing headed to empty hotel: Mayor
1:43 PM
Another 300 housing units are slated to be added at the vacant Marlborough Hotel, Mayor Scott Gillingham announced at his annual State of the City address.
More than 1,000 people gathered at the convention centre Thursday afternoon to hear the mayor’s last such address before the Oct. 28 election.
The mayor also told the crowd that 7-Eleven is looking to expand, with several new franchise locations in Winnipeg.
The statement comes after the Slurpee maker shut down multiple Winnipeg stores, following concerns about rampant theft in late 2024.
