Winnipeg police say two men are in custody after a Thursday afternoon traffic stop in the Weston neighbourhood.

Officers were patrolling the area around 2 p.m. when they say a male passenger in the backseat of a taxi was leaning outside of its window, not wearing a seatbelt and yelling at a pedestrian at a bus stop.

During a traffic stop, police located a .22 calibre handgun on one man, while an additional passenger had a sawed-off shot gun.

A 36-year-old man, who had two warrants for his arrest, is charged with various firearms offences. A 32-year-old man was also charged with firearms offences and failure to comply with conditions of an undertaking.

Both men were detained.
