VAUDREUIL-DORION – A teenage girl was killed Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle in Vaudreuil‑Dorion, a suburb about 45 kilometres west of Montreal.

Quebec police say they were called around 8:30  p.m. to the location of the collision.

Quebec police spokesperson Sgt. Frédéric Deshaies said the teen was a local resident.

Police say the girl died at the scene.

Deshaies says police cannot release details about the driver to avoid affecting the investigation.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
