Police search for The Pas slaying suspect

RCMP continue to look for a suspect after a 33-year-old man was fatally assaulted at a home in The Pas in February.

Officers were sent to the residence at 2:15 a.m. on Feb. 27 and found the victim suffering from life-threatening injuries.

He was sent to hospital, where he later died.

Police continue to search for Draven Lester Mercredi, 30, of The Pas, RCMP said in a Wednesday news release.

Officers from the RCMP, Manitoba Integrated Violent Offender Apprehension Unit and Winnipeg Police Service are in the are searching for the suspect, the release said.

RCMP said in early March that Saskatoon resident Joey Campbell, 22, and Thompson resident Nicholas Halcrow-Jewels, 32, were charged with second-degree murder in the 33-year-old’s death.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Mercredi is asked to contact RCMP in The Pas at 204-627-6204.
