HAIDA GWAII – Earthquake Canada says a 4.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded off the coast of northern B.C.
It says the quake struck at 6:25 a.m. about 93 kilometres south-southeast of Daajing Giids, a small village on the archipelago of the Haida Gwaii, B.C.
The agency says the earthquake was recorded at a depth of 25 kilometres.
It says there were no reports of damage, and none is expected.
The United States Geological Survey also issued a notice following the quake, saying the “Pacific margin offshore B.C. is one of the most active seismic zones in North America and has hosted a number of large earthquakes historically.”
Emergency Management B.C. also issued a post to social media after the quake, reminding residents to seek cover if they begin feeling shaking.
This report by The Canadian Press was first published Mar. 25, 2026.
