Fatal crash under investigation

A 50-year-old woman has died after being hit by a semi-truck at Main Street and Dufferin Avenue on Saturday afternoon.

The Winnipeg Police Service’s traffic unit is investigating the crash, which happened just before 3 p.m. The victim, a pedestrian, was taken to hospital in critical condition and later died.

The driver of the tractor-trailer remained on scene and was co-operative, the Winnipeg Police Service stated in a news release Sunday.
