MONTREAL – A man in his 50s died Friday evening following a collision between his vehicle and a snowplow in central Quebec.

Élizabeth Marquis, Quebec provincial police spokesperson, says the crash occurred around 10:45 p.m. on Rivière-Croche Road, in La Tuque, about 200 kilometres northwest of Quebec City.

Marquis says initial reports indicate the snowplow collided with the man’s vehicle.

Police say the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

Marquis says the snowplow driver was not injured.

Quebec provincial police collision investigators were dispatched to the scene, and the road remained closed into the morning.
