VANCOUVER – Police say four people have been convicted in relation to a violent home invasion in Vancouver where four people were held hostage.
The attack in March 2023 also involved a kidnapping, in which the four people in the home were driven out of the city and held hostage for a period of time.
Vancouver police say in a news release that a 17-year-old entered a guilty plea to a lesser offence after three of the four suspects were arrested a year after the attack.
Two other accused, Duoth Garkouth and Ramadhan Ibrahim-Hussein, both aged 21, entered guilty pleas to kidnapping and break-and-enter.
Police say the fourth accused, Sijuola Obatusa, 23, was found guilty on April 2 after a trial in Supreme Court.
The teenager has already served his sentence, and police say the other three remain in custody and are due back in court next month to fix a date for sentencing.
