Firefighters respond to early morning fires

1:03 PM

No one was hurt as Winnipeg firefighters responded to a house fire and garage fires Sunday morning.

The first fire spread to two garages just before 6 a.m. Sunday on the 800 block of Redwood Avenue. Crews attacked the fire and declared it under control at 6:32 a.m.

The second fire was reported at 7:19 a.m. in a house on Magellan Bay in the city’s Westwood neighbourhood. Crews responded, fought the blaze, and declared it under control at 7:38 a.m.

Both incidents are under investigation. No damage estimates were available, the City of Winnipeg stated in a news release Sunday.
