SAINT THOMAS – A teenager has been charged in a crash that killed a 16-year-old in a Lake Erie community last year.
Ontario Provincial Police say they responded to a crash involving a tractor trailer and a sedan in Central Elgin just before 1 p.m. on Nov. 14.
They say the passenger of the sedan, a 16-year-old from St. Thomas, suffered life-threatening injuries.
The teen later died in hospital.
Police say the driver of the sedan, a 17-year-old from Central Elgin, has now been charged with careless driving causing death.
Neither can be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
