Pedestrian dead after being hit on Henderson

A 32-year-old man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing Henderson Highway on foot Friday morning.

The pedestrian was crossing Henderson shortly before 5:20 a.m. when he was hit by a vehicle travelling northbound, a Winnipeg Police Service news release Monday stated.

Police were sent to the intersection of Henderson and Neil Avenue after the driver called 911. The driver spoke with officers at the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition and later died.

The traffic division is continuing the investigation.
