Two people have been charged and a third suspect is being sought following an armed robbery in the Rural Municipality of Fisher last week in which a 59-year-old received life-threatening injuries.
On Thursday, Fisher RCMP were called to Highway 17 North, south of Hodgson. Mounties said the victim was threatened with a sawed-off shotgun by three people, attacked and then robbed of his truck.
RCMP were unable to find the suspects and when they went to speak with the victim, they found him in medical distress. He was taken to hospital and eventually transferred to Winnipeg for treatment, said RCMP. He’s now recovering in hospital.
An arrest warrant was issued for two of the three suspects, a man and a woman from Winnipeg, both 36, and they were taken into custody without incident, RCMP said. They now face numerous charges including aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and armed robbery.
RCMP say the suspect who is at large is a woman with rotten front teeth.
