100 MILE HOUSE – Police in British Columbia say they’ve arrested a suspect for an alleged arson that occurred Saturday night.
RCMP in 100 Mile House say they were called to a structure fire in the area of Deka Lake, about a 45 kilometre drive from the community.
They say an investigation determined the fire was deliberately set and after combing the scene and canvassing the neighbourhood, a suspect was identified and arrested.
Police say the suspect remains in custody before a bail hearing, and they did not release a name.
Sgt. Brian Lamb says in a news release that the evidence gathered was critical to finding the suspect.
Lamb says arson investigations are complex and officers are still trying to figure out the full circumstances of the blaze.
