Police in Kingston, Ont., say they have charged an Ottawa officer with firearm-related offences over alleged off-duty incidents.
Investigators say they received a request from the Ottawa force last month to conduct further investigation into an officer who had been charged with assault and criminal harassment.
They say the additional investigation led them to charge the officer with careless use of a firearm and careless storage of a firearm.
Police say the officer was arrested again on Monday, and is due in court at a later date.
Kingston police say they will provide no further details in order to protect the privacy of those involved and maintain the integrity of the investigation.
Ottawa police said they would not identify the officer as the alleged incident involves intimate partner violence.
