The province now has a mobile public emergency information platform — the MB Ready app.

MB Ready provides real-time, location-based notifications for emergencies and incidents such as severe weather, wildfires, floods, road closures and power outages, the provincial government said in a news release Monday.

Users can set alerts for specific addresses or geographic areas, allowing them to stay informed about conditions that may affect their home, workplace or other important locations, it said.

MB Ready also includes guidance on building emergency kits, creating household emergency plans, understanding local risks and accessing safety information during emergencies, the government said.

It is available as a mobile app in both official languages.
