Firefighters, police at scene of Langside Street house blaze

City fire crews are battling a blaze on Langside Street, where flames have damaged multiple homes.

The cause of the blaze and time of the call were not immediately clear, but police cordoned off a section of the roadway while firefighters worked. Investigators from the Winnipeg Police Service’s forensic unit were also on scene.

A home at 584 Langside St. suffered the most damage, but two nearby homes appear to have been impacted as well.

WPS spokesperson Const. Claude Chancy said it was too early to provide additional details about the incident, while firefighting efforts were still underway.
