Funeral director to run for mayor

A third candidate has registered for the race to become the next mayor of Winnipeg.

Mike Vogiatzakis, a funeral director, issued a Facebook post confirming his registration. It notes his campaign will tackle issues related to public safety, roads, transit, homelessness, addiction and accountability at city hall.

Christopher Clacio, who also ran for mayor in 2022, entered the race on May 1, the same day Mayor Scott Gillingham registered to seek a second term.

Election day is Oct. 28.
