Firefighters douse two early morning blazes Saturday

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a grass fire near Archibald Street and Elizabeth Road just before 3 a.m.
The fire covered an area around the size of half of a football field, a Saturday news release states.
Using specialized wildland firefighting equipment, the fire was declared under control just before 5 a.m.
Crews were also called to a fire in a house on the 400 block of Alfred Avenue. The fire was declared under control at 3:12 a.m.
Both fires are being investigated and no injuries were reported.
