Two arrested in Elgin Avenue West drug raid

Winnipeg police arrested a man and a woman after executing a search warrant on an Elgin Avenue West home on Saturday evening.

Winnipeg Police Service officers began investigating reports drugs were being sold out of the residence on the 1400 block of Elgin Avenue West last month.

At about 8 p.m. on Saturday, officers executed the warrant and found about 85 grams of methamphetamine, 18 grams of fentanyl, some pills, a pellet rifle, a BB handgun, drug packaging and stolen licence plates.

A 35-year-old woman who was in the home and a 47-year-old man who arrived there while police were searching it were arrested and charged with several drug and weapons offences.
