The Ste. Anne Hospital’s emergency department is scheduled to reopen on Thursday.

“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who assisted during this time. Your dedication and hard work helped ensure that patient safety remained our top priority throughout this temporary closure,” the health authority said Tuesday.

The hospital had to close July 13 after its cooling system broke down.

On Wednesday, it said work was underway to repair the system to “maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and physicians.”

Patients had to be moved to the Bethesda Regional Health Centre in Steinbach and the Boundary Trails Health Centre in Winkler.

Diagnostics, same-day procedures and the emergency department had to be shut down.

Ste. Anne, which has 3,000 residents is 50 kilometres southeast of Winnipeg.
