EDMONTON – A 16-year-old boy is facing a second-degree murder charge in the death of a teenage girl in Edmonton.
Police have also confirmed through an autopsy that the girl died from a gunshot wound.
They have not released the names of the accused or the victim in keeping with the rules of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Edmonton police say they responded early Sunday morning to reports of a shooting in the city’s northeast.
Officers found a seriously injured 16-year-old girl.
She was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived on scene.
