Construction starts to update Kilcona Park

Construction is now officially underway to revamp Kilcona Park.

On Monday, the city started a $6.1-million project to demolish vacant buildings at the Harbourview Park and Recreation Complex (which is part of the property), add a new road through the park, update an off-leash dog area and install a pedestrian/cycling path, seating and shelters, among other amenities.

Throughout construction, all dogs are required to be leashed while at the park.

The city expects to complete the road by fall 2027.
