QUÉBEC – The Memorial Cup is returning to Quebec City in 2028 after the Canadian Hockey League selected the Quebec Remparts to host the national junior hockey championship.
The Remparts beat out Moncton in a bidding process to bring the tournament back to Quebec City for the first time since 2015.
The tournament will be held at the 18,000-seat Vidéotron Centre after the 2015 championship was staged at Pepsi Coliseum.
It will be the fourth Memorial Cup hosted by Quebec City since the round-robin format was introduced in 1972.
The four-team tournament will feature the host Remparts and the playoff champions of the Ontario Hockey League, Western Hockey League and Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League.
The 2027 Memorial Cup will be held in Guelph, Ont., from May 20-30, while dates for the 2028 tournament have yet to be announced.
