WINNIPEG – Manitoba Public Insurance is continuing to battle computer problems that have plagued it since mid-week.
MPI offices and 140 of the province’s 306 Autopac agents are now back online, the agency said Saturday in a release.
Other agents throughout the province are not able to access the online system because of a problem with one of its data banks. They are still able to serve their customers the old-fashioned way — using paper transactions, which will later be inputted into MPI’s computer system.
MPI is asking customers to avoid coming in until their computer problems are fixed, unless they have an "urgent" situation.
Until the problems are fixed, customers will not be charged late fees or overdue interest, nor will policies be suspended, and no non-policy financing agreements will be cancelled, MPI said.
For more information, contact MPI’s call centre in Winnipeg at 985-7000 or 1-800-665-2410.
