Dozens of developers, real-estate industry professionals and other people interested in the future of land use in Winnipeg have converged on city hall as council’s executive policy committee holds a public hearing about the city’s new long-term development plan.
Mayor Sam Katz’s inner circle will spend the morning listening to delegations about Our Winnipeg, the city’s $3.2-million new long-term planning blueprint.
The public hearing is slated to last until noon. Members of the public may still sign up to address EPC if they choose.
The committee will reconvene this afternoon to deal with its regular agenda, which includes a new mosquito-control policy, increased funding for the eastern extension of Chief Peguis Trail and a plan to post councillors’ expenses online.
