A half-dozen of Winnipeg’s top chefs will vie for the top step of the podium at this year’s Canada’s Great Kitchen Party, the culinary event and fundraiser formerly known as Gold Medal Plates.

This year’s annual event returns to an in-person format taking place Monday, Oct. 28, starting at 6 p.m. at the Fairmont Winnipeg (2 Lombard Pl.). The 2023 event, won by Kris Kurus of Deer + Almond, was a private event.

The chefs competing for the top prize — a trip to the Canadian Culinary Championship in Ottawa in early 2025 — are Jennifer Ballantyne of Manoominat at Wyndham Garden Winnipeg Airport, Austin Granados of Cake-ology, Mitchell Man of Passero, Colin Naylor of Bar Accanto, Graham Peltier of Tabula Rasa and Jessica Young of Spruce Catering.
