ARIES (March 21-April 19)

This is wonderful day to entertain at home because you feel affectionate to others, especially family members. Some of you will use this same favourable influence to redecorate and make your home look more attractive. It’s also a great day to explore real-estate opportunities.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

This is a feel-good day! For starters, this is a popular week for powerful discussions about politics and religion or legal and medical matters. You might also meet someone who makes a strong impression on you. Meanwhile, this day in particular, you feel gentle and generous to the world around you.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

It’s the day to ask for what you want, because you look fabulous in the eyes of others — especially authority figures like bosses, parents, teachers, VIPs and even the police. Having said that, please co-operate with partners and close friends. Be nice.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Grab every chance to travel, because you want to learn, study, meet new people and encounter new adventures. Yes, you want it all! This is the perfect day to begin a romantic encounter with someone who is “different” from you.

Long may you scamper, sweet little Jimothy

Jen Zoratti 5 minute read 2:01 AM CDT

We desperately needed a folk hero this summer, with its wildfires and storms and diarrhea lettuce. Someone to unite us, to inspire us, to get us through.

Enter Jimothy.

Jimothy is an off-kilter raccoon with an appropriately off-kilter name from Seattle who has gone viral for his short, round body — likely the result of a congenital condition called short spine syndrome.

I have seen various creative descriptions of Jimothy online: “a child’s rendering come to life,” or “a raccoon drawn from memory,” or not a raccoon but a “rcn,” owing to his truncated spine.

Convicted sex offender awaits latest sentence

Dean Pritchard 5 minute read 2:01 AM CDT

Prosecutors are seeking a 15-year prison sentence for a Red Lake, Ont., man who groomed two Indigenous girls online and drove nearly 500 kilometres to Winnipeg to sexually abuse one of them.

Scott Christopher Alcorn, 50, has pleaded guilty to one count each of child luring, sexual interference and possession of child sexual abuse material.

Alcorn was still on parole for child sex offences at the time of his April 2025 arrest, having been convicted four years earlier of providing a 16-year-old girl a bottle of alcohol in exchange for sex.

“Despite this (prior conviction)… Mr. Alcorn egregiously reoffended, this time to lure two children online and successfully groomed, manipulated and commodified one of (the victims),” Crown attorney Dayna Queau-Guzzi told provincial court Judge Robert Heinrichs at a sentencing hearing Thursday.
