You might see something new is possible. You might also see what is not possible. You might see what to let go of and what to keep.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

A planetary combo will urge you to overhaul your life in a regenerative way. You might re-align your purpose and your future goals in a new way, Perhaps you see you have the ability and know-how to do something — simply because it is possible.

A planetary alignment will affect you. It will give you the confidence to go after something you want. (Perhaps you have always wanted it.) Now you see what is doable, maybe because you believe you can finally financially swing it.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

At a deep level, you want to make meaningful changes in your closest relationships because of your desires and needs. (There’s a limit to what you will put up with or accept.) You see how things must be so you can steer your life the way you want. It’s a conscious choice.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

You appreciate beauty; and at this time, a planetary aspect might reveal new ways for you to create beauty, make art or value your leisure time. You might come to a new understanding of the balance between work and play that fits you best.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Some kind of internal change is taking place that makes you feel regenerated or perhaps liberated — possibly both. (This is not casual.) Whatever this is, it’s very real and will affect your life and how you relate to others.

What to watch as puck drops on Jets training camp

Mike McIntyre and Ken Wiebe 10 minute read 2:44 PM CDT

Welcome to a Winnipeg Jets training camp like no other — one where the on-ice storylines and battles threaten to be trumped by what’s happening away from the rink.

Yes, the dark cloud that is the Connor Hellebuyck situation looms over the organization as it prepares to try and turn the page on a terrible 2025-26 campaign which ended with a 26th-overall finish.

It’s not going to be easy, especially in a highly competitive Central Division and Western Conference and with such a major unresolved issue.

But the work starts now, and Free Press hockey writers Mike McIntyre and Ken Wiebe get you set for what to expect ahead of the 84-game regular season, which begins Oct. 2.

Teenage e-scooter driver in critical condition after crash

Chris Kitching 6 minute read Updated: 5:50 PM CDT

A teenager riding an e-scooter suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck by an SUV in southwest Winnipeg on Monday night.

Witnesses provided first aid to the injured rider, who police said is under 18, after the collision happened at Waverley Street and Arbour Meadow Gate/Lake Crest Road at about 9:30 p.m.

“It feels like it happened in slow motion,” said driver Audrey Vanderspek, who was waiting at a red light when she witnessed the incident. “Maybe it’s because you’re helpless, that it just feels like everything slows down in the moment.”

Police said the electric scooter rider was crossing Waverley and was hit by a southbound 2010 Honda CR-V. The posted speed limit on that stretch of Waverley is 70 kilometres per hour.

Winnipeg, police and downtown crime

Editorial 4 minute read 2:01 AM CDT

A safer downtown is not much use if people are still afraid to walk there.

That is the uncomfortable message from Winnipeg’s latest police citizen survey, and one city council should take seriously.

Downtown crime has fallen this year, according to the most recent police statistics. Violent crime is down even more. But for most Winnipeggers, the downtown still feels like a place to avoid, particularly after dark.

Only 44 per cent of survey respondents said they feel very or reasonably safe walking alone downtown during the day. At night, that number plunges to just eight per cent. Among women, it is an appalling three per cent, compared with 14 per cent of men.
