RENOWNED Canadian thespian Colm Feore is back as host of the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards.
In an acclaimed career that spans 30 years in theatre, film and television, Feore will next appear in the TV miniseries The Borgias with Jeremy Irons and in the movie Thor, opposite Anthony Hopkins and recent Oscar winner Natalie Portman.
This year’s Governor General’s laureates, to be honoured in Ottawa on May 14, include Yvon Deschamps, Margie Gillis, William Shatner, Howard Shore, Winnipegger Leslee Silverman and Paul Thompson.
Feore has proven himself an actor of stunning range, from his portrayal of former prime minister Pierre Trudeau in the CBC biopic in 2002 to his most recent turn as Macbeth at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival.
