Two more seasons of the horror series Channel Zero, shot for the American cable network SyFy, have been ordered by Universal Cable Productions, according to a report by Deadline Hollywood.

That’s potentially good news for Manitoba’s film community, which played host to the show’s first season, Candle Cove, and Season 2, No-End House, which shot back-to-back in the summer and fall of 2016. Candle Cove has already aired and No-End House, which stars Amy Forsyth and John Carroll Lynch, has a slot on SyFy in October of this year.

There has been no firm confirmation the next two seasons will shoot here but writer-showrunner Nick Antosca, asked via Twitter if Manitoba would play host to the next two seasons, did tweet back: “That’s the plan.”

Each season of the Channel Zero anthology is based on a “creepypasta,” a user-generated horror story published online. Antosca was previously a writer and producer on the grisly network series Hannibal.
