Hey there, time traveller!

In her studio at Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Beverly Covert transforms people.
She can turn a blonde-haired little girl into a brown-haired little boy. She can give men formidable beards and women beautiful Victorian updos.
Covert is the wigs and makeup supervisor at Royal MTC, and she’s been working hard at transforming the cast of A Christmas Carol into their characters. Wig-making and dressing is a labour-intensive artform, but if it’s done well, “it’s one of those things that shouldn’t be noticed.”
For the second instalment in our series of behind-the-scenes video peeks at the production of A Christmas Carol, we hang out with Covert in her studio to learn what goes into one of the most important and most subtle things onstage.
