Council of Canadians launches anti-Trump petition
In advance of the G7 summit to be held in Quebec this June, the Council of Canadians, self-described as “Canada’s leading social action organization,” has launched a site petitioning the federal government to ensure U.S. President Donald Trump stays away. “He and his racist, misogynist, vulgar and dangerous words and actions are not welcome,” says the petition, which would presumably be delivered to the federal government in advance of the meetings. As of earlier this week the petition had over 5,600 signatures. Trump has yet to visit Canada since becoming president.
