Raw Bar Oyster Company has teamed up with the Wine Bar at the Winehouse.

Winnipeg’s busiest seafood shuckers are taking their pop-up shellfish business to The Wine Bar at The Winehouse on Saturday for three sittings sure to please the palate.

Raw Bar Oyster Company is serving up a seafood platter for two that will include six oysters, a half-dozen poached shrimp cocktail serving and two clusters of snow crab claws. Guests will also get a welcome cocktail and the chance to choose a trio of four-ounce pours from a wine list curated by The Winehouse for the event.

Sittings for the collab take place at 1:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $130 per pair plus taxes and fees at wfp.to/WgF.

And if you can’t make it or tickets sell out, fret not — Raw Bar will be back at the same location on May 3.

Joyce of RejoyceImagine is one of 34 vendors at Saturday’s Big Thrift Energy Market.

If you’re looking for sustainable means to update your wardrobe or refresh your home, this is the market for you.

Now in its third year, the event brings together 34 vendors, all of whom — with the exception of food vendors Sweet Daye, Anishinaa-Bakes and Sweet Caroline’s Macarons — will be selling secondhand, upcycled, thrifted or handmade items.

Among the 19 clothing vendors are Joyce of RejoyceImagine who turns tablecloths into dresses, makes coats out of quilts and transforms sleeping bags to vests, and children’s clothing vendors Clever Curations and For You and Yours.

For vintage and one-of-a-kind home decor pieces, check out Wicklow Home Supply, Cake and Bear, TRU Curated Finds or Valley Treasures.

“Anyone looking for a spring refresh that not only has a sustainable impact on the environment but your wallets as well should visit,” Jess Glennie, host and vendor says.

“In the unlikely event that you are not able to find something you would wear, you will for sure be inspired by the outfits, home decor, art and delicious treats of these amazing vendors.”

With past performances by Fontine, Taylor Jackson, Kris Ulrich and Virgo Rising, the foundation — founded by Winnipeg lawyer Colin Findlay — has unlocked a new venue on the Granite’s third floor for a different brand of post-league entertainment. This week, Jamboree, Fencing and Meadows take the stage for the show, which is free for Granite club members if they pick up a no-cost ticket ahead of time.

Saturday’s Easter bazaar at the Ukrainian National Federation building will feature handmade food and crafts.

Stock up on treats and treasures Saturday at a pair of spring markets organized by members of Winnipeg’s Ukrainian community.

The Ukrainian Easter Bazaar at the Ukrainian National Federation building (935 Main St.) will feature 43 vendors, all of whom are newcomers displaced by the Russian invasion.

The vendors will be selling handmade food and souvenirs, including frozen perogies, cabbage rolls, paska, sourdough bread, kielbasa, borscht, Easter cookies and cakes. Traditional dolls, jewelry, embroidery, wreaths, ceramics and wood crafts will also be for sale.

A silent auction will be held with proceeds donated to Iron Hearts for Ukraine, which raises funds for front-line medical supplies and military gear.

Nearby, Oseredok Ukrainian Cultural and Education Centre (184 Alexander Ave. E.) is hosting a spring market with pysanka supplies, Easter decor, paskas, traditional basket covers, vyshyvanky and Ukrainian jewelry for sale.

Both events run from 10 a.m to 4 p.m.
