Amid photos of his latest record purchases, Burton Cummings shared this tidbit on his Facebook account on Sunday, Dec. 8: “‘Rumour has it,’ that this might be a sight many people will see in 2020.” The photo attached was Randy Bachman and Cummings — the two kingpins of the Guess Who — celebrating an end to a concert as part of Bachman Cummings about a decade ago. The two have toured separately for the past several years but a reunion would spur another wave of Winnipeg nostalgia. Stay tuned.

Nothing cuts throught he bitter chill of a December day in Winnipeg quite like a hot drink. With that in mind, the Exchange District BIZ has co-ordinated a dozen eateries, lounges and more in the area as part of the third annual Hot Beverage Week. The event, which started Dec. 6 and runs through Friday, Dec. 13, features a dozen venues pouring special holiday hot drinks which typically fall in the buzzy (ie. coffee-driven) or boozy categories. Participating businesses include Acorn Café, Forth, Across the Board Game Café, Blufish, Patent 5 Distillery and more. For a complete list see wfp.to/hotbevweek.
