The printed book is alive and well and many more of them will now be printed more quickly and better in Altona.
Friesens Corp. unveiled a new press today — one of only three in the world — capable of printing 64 double-sided, full colour pages.
The employee-owned business – the original Friesen family is fully divested – invested close to $10 million in the presses and ancillary equipment.
“The goal is to make this the most efficient press room in the world,” said CEO Curwin Friesen.
The project is the largest capital investment in the company’s history.
The XXL MAN Roland press shipped in 16 containers from Germany and took about three months to commission.
