The Hoff getting hitched

DAVID Hasselhoff has proposed marriage to Welsh-born Hayley Roberts, his main squeeze these last five years. She accepted.

“We were both in tears… I genuinely had no idea he was going to do that,” Roberts told Hello magazine. “I’m still overwhelmed.”

Hasselhoff also has a daughter named Hayley. She and her sister, Taylor, are reportedly on good terms with their stepmother-to-be.

The Hoff is 63. His fiancée is 36. The other Hayley is 23. Taylor is 25.

Yet another child for Murphy

IT’S a girl for Eddie Murphy and his lady friend, Paige Butcher.

This is his ninth child but their first together. The poor kid will go through life as Izzy Oona Murphy.

Butcher, a swimsuit and lingerie model from Australia, is 36. Murphy is 55.

Aghast over jaw-dropping photo

RUMER Willis has denounced Vanity Fair for Photoshopping her image to soften her distinctive jawline.

She used Instagram to complain about the mag’s picture of her with her younger sisters, Scout and Tallulah.

“I find it really offensive for anyone to try and change the way you look so drastically. I love the way I look, and I won’t support anyone who would feel a need to change the way I look to make me beautiful,” she wrote.

“Whether or not they realize it, it is a form of bullying.”

Hmmm. I’m not sure I see this as bullying, exactly. But for somebody to alter your picture without permission to make it conform more closely to some norm can’t be right, can it?

The sisters are the daughters of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. Rumer, 27, is trying to make it as an actress.

Big payday for film flop

WE keep hearing about how female movie stars are underpaid, but Variety reported last week Julia Roberts was paid US$3 million for just four days of work shooting her supporting part in the movie Mother’s Day.

That seems a trifle high considering the picture did a mere US$8.3 million at the box office when it opened last weekend. The film stars Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Jason Sudeikis; we don’t know what they were paid.

We do know the reviews were brutal. Variety said the picture was “atrociously written, begrudgingly acted, haphazardly assembled and never more backward than when it thinks it’s being progressive.”

Time magazine was even tougher: “Hate your mom? Take her to see Mother’s Day, an ensemble comedy that’s… actually an insidious form of torture.”

Model getting married

SWIMSUIT model Kate Upton showed up at New York’s big-deal Met Gala last Monday night with a new jumbo engagement ring but no fiancé.

Her squeeze, baseball player Justin Verlander, was in Cleveland getting ready to start for the Detroit Tigers.

“He asked me right before the season started,” Upton told E!Online. “We’ve been keeping it on the down-low for quite a while, so I’m excited to finally be able to share it with the world.”

There are no wedding plans yet. They’ve been a couple for three years. He’s 33, she’s 23.

KERRY Washington, who stars in ABC’s political drama Scandal, is expecting a second child with her husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, E! News reports.

There’s been no official confirmation; the couple keeps family matters private.

Washington is 39. Their daughter, Isabelle, just turned two.

EMILIA Clarke, the Games of Thrones actress, says Esquire magazine had to get her drunk before she was ready to pose, covered only by a corner of the bedsheet, for their November 2015 Sexiest Woman Alive cover.

Sure, she’s often been bare on Games of Thrones, but in character as Daenerys Targaryen on the dragons ’n’ swords drama. This was as herself, and that felt quite different, Clarke told Ellen DeGeneres.

“Doing those kind of sex scenes on camera is one thing, but doing it as yourself, I need alcohol to do.” The photo crew, “just kept giving me vodka. That’s me drunk. That’s me Photoshopped and drunk.”

(Sexiest woman alive… is that stupid or what? Did they really rate all 3.6 billion women? On what standards? “Prettiest English-speaking starlet who has a good press agent” would be more accurate. But I digress.)

Slain rapper’s ride for sale

Would you pay US$100,000 for a 20-year-old Hummer? Even if it used to have a famous owner?

Me neither. But that’s the expected price when Tupac Shakur’s old ride goes on the block Thursday, RRAuction.com reports. New York’s the Daily News spotted the listing.

You also get his licence plate (YAKNPAK) and a copy of the vehicle registration, in his name.

The legendary rapper, widely considered one of the best ever, bought the vehicle a month before he was gunned down and killed in Las Vegas in 1996. There have been various owners since; the full pedigree is on the auction website.

Shakur was 25 when he died.
